Piers
Sometimes it is necessary depending on the soil classification to install concrete piers underneath a waffle pod slab. This is done by drilling holes, deep into the soil by the depth specified by a structural engineer who designed the slab ,it could be 1 m deep or it could be 2m deep ,it to really does depend on your soil conditions. And then the holes are filled with concrete and the waffle pods placed on top .
"A good building practice is to consult with the plumber about the underground pipes and piers.
But in my experience dig and fill the piers before getting the under ground plumbing put in as this will save any pipes getting damaged." |
