Footing trench mark- out and excavations
In order to dig accurate trenches,The backhoe operator needs accurate marks on the ground to dig it. To mark these, set up string lines from profile to profile, on the nails which marked the footing's width. These string lines can then be used to plumb down the width and location of the footing trench onto the ground ,a small quantity of lime or spray paint is spread along the edge of a straight piece of timber, located plumb between these string lines the two lines show the backhoe operator where to dig the trenches and reduce the chances of digging on the wrong side of line which could occur if only a single line were used.
