Garage step down
Garage floors are commonly built with a step down from the main house floor level.  So is a good idea in setting out to mark exactly where the garage is going to be constructed so the ground can be excavated deeper
The boxing or slab formwork around the step down, needs to be very accurately constructed. Or this can cause problems later on down the track when plastering or doing fit out as a concrete will be sticking out past the wall frames.

"It is a good idea to drive a steel picket into the ground of the garage step down to mark the corners as some times the mark out lines can be covered up by excessive soil from the main site cut."..
