Cut and Fill
A
cut and fill site means to cut away from a high section of the slab site and fill the low side of the slab site with the ground soil being cut away from the high side of the slab site.
In some cases, piers will be used to support the slab on the fill side and the fill is used as form work to hold the concrete.
"Cut and fill sites are used on sloping grounds to prepare level base on the construction of a slab. But sometimes it is necessary to bring in extra fill."
