Strip Footing Design and Plan Detailing.
Before any strip footing can be designed, A soil classification of the building site must be determined.  This is done by a geotechnical engineer, who will conduct tests on the site and write up a  report and recommend a site classification to adopt various types of site construction.  The construction type for the house ,for example,a clad frame or brick veneer construction can have a bearing on the detail and design of the strip footing and using the site classification .An appropriate construction type of footing system can be designed and detailed in accordance with AS287/1996. This is usually done by an engineer and involves examining the strip footing size the depth of the trench the reinforcement required, the preparation, and assess the sites gradient level and drainage requirements after this a footing system plan is designed.
