A brick veneer house construction consists of a load bearing frame,
clad with an outer leaf of masonry brick work
This is  typically known as brick veneer house.

It is important for the concretor to set up the rebate level so no brick cutting is needed.
When excavating the ground to suit this type of footing system it is a good building practice to make the top of the rebate level or about 50mm higher than the natural ground level ,so when the slab is backfilled with soil no concrete is exposed.
